ECUA Wins Regional Drinking Water Competition For Second Year
For the second year, the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority's water was selected as the best tasting water in a taste test competition, held Wednesday, March 1, sponsored by Region IX of the Florida Section/ American Water Works Association (FS/AWWA).  Region IX is comprised of all water utilities in the four westernmost counties of the Panhandle: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton.   On hand to judge the competition were Lane Gilchrist, Mayor of Gulf Breeze, Buzz Eddy, Gulf Breeze City Manager, and Buck Lee, general manager of the Santa Rosa Island Authority.

"We're thrilled to be recognized two years in a row, as we really strive to offer the best tasting, highest quality water to our customers", said ECUA Board Chairman, Logan Fink.

As winner of the Region IX taste test, ECUA's water has been entered in the state-wide competition, going up against the winners from the other 11 FS/AWWA Regions.  This event will be held March 22, 2006, on the steps of the Tallahassee City Hall, as part of the annual FS/AWWA Legislation Day.
